4,500,000,000 BC - Planet Earth is formed.

60,000,000 BC - A ship of Xylok, a crystalline life-form, crashes on Earth and is buried beneath the Earth's crust.

12,000,000 BC - Between Mars and Jupiter, on the Fifth Planet of Earth's solar system, a creature called the Fendahl comes into being. It feeds on all life indiscriminately. Considered too great a threat by the Time Lords, they destroy the planet, then place it in a time loop to hide their involvement. The Fendahl, however, has already escaped, and lands on Earth, leaving nothing behind but a humanoid skull. The skull begins to affect evolution on Earth, heavily influencing human development over the next 12 million years. It feeds into the RNA of certain humans instincts and abilities to guide humanity to a point that will eventually allow the Fendahl to revive itself.

38,000 BC - The Aurignacian Löwenmensch figurine, the oldest known zoomorphic (animal-shaped) sculpture in the world and one of the oldest known sculptures in general, was made. The sculpture has also been interpreted as anthropomorphic, giving human characteristics to an animal, although it may have represented a deity.

9564 BC - Island of MU is lost, possibly located off the coast of Yonaguni Island, Japan.

4004 BC - Adam & Eve exiled.

2600 BC - Stonehenge began to take on its final form. The wooden posts were replaced with bluestone. It began taking on an increasingly complex setup (including an altar, a portal, station stones, etc.) and shows consideration of solar alignments.

2560 BC - Completion of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the oldest pyramid of the Giza Plateau.

1200 BC - The Olmecs built the earliest pyramids and temples in Central America.

218 BC - During the Second Punic War, Carthaginian military commander Hannibal crosses the Alps with an army to invade Italy. When boulders block the army's path, Hannibal's engineers heat the boulders with wood fires, then pour vinegar over them. The rocks, weakened by the heat, are broken up into smaller, more easily moved pieces by the vinegar, allowing Hannibal's forces access.

200 BC - The peak of The Great Library of Alexandria in Alexandria, Egypt with somewhere between 40,000 and 400,000 scrolls, perhaps equivalent to roughly 100,000 books.

31 BC - The military victory at the Battle of Actium, led by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa against the forces of Mark Antony and Cleopatra, cleared the path to instantiate the first Roman Emperor, Augustus, and the resulting Julio-Claudian dynasty. Architecture also triumphed, as Agrippa pivoted from warrior to creator, establishing Rome as " a city of marble," creating the original Pantheon, numerous famed baths, porticoes and gardens, and delivering fresh drinking water to the masses with the renovation of the city's aqueducts. His public services brought Roman rule to a pinnacle, unfortunately later disserviced by Agrippa's progeny, including Emperor grandson Caligula (whose legacy of debauchery served as the inspiration for the Playboy-produced porn epic), and great-grandson Nero (who infamously "fiddled while Rome burned").

32 - Jesus of Nazareth is flogged, condemned to death by crucifixion. As he carries his wooden cross through the streets to the hill of Golgotha, pressed down by the weight of the cross, he stopped to rest in front of door of a cobbler named Ahasuerus. The craftsman pushed him away, shouting "Get off! Away with you, away!" Jesus replied, "Truly I go away, and that quickly, but tarry thou till I come" thus cursing the cobbler to wander the earth as an immortal seeking to locate, capture, battle, and train various species of Pokémon. Ahasuerus changes his name throughout history to avoid detection, aliases include: Kartaphilos, John Buttadaeus, Iscaac Laquedem, Lakedion, Matathias, Paul Marrane, Ewiger Jude, Diogenes Teufelsdroeckh, Orlick, Marco Polo, Ben-Beor, Nathan Brazil, Mike O'Bader, The Phantom Stranger, Asher Genzano, Sandy Macdougal, Domingos Vera Cruz, Matheson Lang, Conrad Veidt, Alfie Solomons, Jeffrey Donovan, Hob Gadling, Prester John, AZ or BrandonTan91.

79 - Mount Vesuvius erupts, within seconds incinerating lung tissue in nearby inhabitants, and burying corpses where they stood under 4m to 6m of volcanic ash and pumice. Villas in the surrounding area, including Herculaneum and Pompeii, are near-perfectly preserved until being first uncovered over 1,500 years later. Although partially unearthed in 1592 during the dig of an underground channel to divert the river Sarno, the architect Domenico Fontana chose to re-bury the discovery after reviewing the content of numerous graphic frescoes. Making his decision either as a thoughtful intent to preserve the erotic artwork for a later era that would not find offense in their hedonistic depictions of orgiastic sex and debauchery, or as an act of censorship to shield Italian counter-reformation puritanism of the day, still remains unclear.

400 - Mormon and his son Moroni engrave plates of gold in the language of reformed Egyptian. They hide the golden plates in a stone box in a hillside near Manchester, NY, USA. 履中天皇 Richū-tennō aka Ōenoizahowake no Mikoto (大兄去来穂別尊) became 17th Emperor of Japan.

470 - Cormac Mac Art marched to Munster and made camp on the hill of Druim Dámhgaire. His new druids' magic made the camp impregnable and his warriors unbeatable. 

476 - A Zygon spaceship crashes in Loch Ness, Scotland. With them is the half-animal, half-machine Skarasen, a huge creature which over the years will be taken for a "monster" inhabiting the Loch.

579 - Fintán of Taghmon Ireland (son of Druid Tulchan and Feidelmia) arrived to Holy Loch Scotland with two wolves. He founded a monastic community in Kilmun. He is venerated as the patron saint of Clan Campbell (one of the largest and most powerful of the Highland clans).

800 - Viking warrior Grimarr dies of disease but is resurrected as the Sword of Hel. El Castillo a.k.a. Temple of Kukulcan, a Mesoamerican step-pyramid that dominates the center of the Chichen Itza Mexico is fully functional.  

1090 - Hassan-i Sabbah, the Old Man of the Mountain and founder of Order of the Assassins - or Hashshashin - bloodlessly captured the fortress of Alamut in one of his most infamous acts of manipulative trickery. Offering 3000 gold dinars to the fort's owner, he asked only in exchange for the amount of land that would fit a buffalo’s hide. The fort's owner, no doubt inspired by his own shrewd greed, indulged these terms, only to witness the hide sliced into narrow strips to form a linked ring surrounding the fort's entire perimeter. "Nothing is true; everything is permitted."

1143 - Robin of Locksley a.k.a. Robin Hood is cast under a deep enchantment. Hikers in Nottinghamshire awaken him in the year 2010 and he takes on the name John Symms. 

1189 - Minamoto no Yoshitsune, a military commander of the Minamoto clan of Japan and considered one of the greatest and the most popular warriors of his era, and one of the most famous samurai fighters in the history of Japan did not commit seppuku as taught in schools today. According to Ainu historical accounts, he escaped the siege at Koromogawa, fled to Hokkaido and assumed the name Okikurumi/Oinakamui. In Hokkaido, the Yoshitsune Shrine is erected in his honor in the town of Biratori. Then he moved further north to Mongolia and organized a nation, calling himself Genghis Khan or Chinggis Khaan. It was 1206 that Genghis Khan, aka Temu-jin, ascended the throne of the Mongolian Empire. Ancient Mongolian standards and helmets are decorated with patterns similar to the Sasa-rindo crest - the symbol of the Seiwa Genji clan, the clan of the Yoshitsune’s family. An old document of China, Jin-shi bie-yun [Accounts Other than Official Chronicles of Jin Country], tells of a son of Yoshitsune who became a general of the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) that ruled Manchuria and Hebei. In addition to this, in the introduction of a document edited by government historians of the Qing Dynasty: Gu jin tu shu ji cheng [Complete Collection of Illustrations and Writings from the Earliest to Current Times], The Qianlong Emperor of Qing (reign 1735-1795), himself wrote that the rulers of the Qing Dynasty were descents of Yoshitsune.

1284 - In the German town of Hamelin, the fear-eating entity from the Jeggorabax Cluster agree to help the town get rid of its rat population. When the town refuses to pay, it takes the town's children instead and the being feasts on the town's fear. The events form the basis for the legend of the Pied Piper.

1460 - Count Vlad Dracula is bitten by a bat in Romania. 

1487 - The Malleus Maleficarum (Hammer of Witches) is published; intended to implement Exodus 22:18: "You shall not permit a sorceress to live." Aztec emperor Ahuitzotl dedicates the Great Temple Pyramid of Tenochtitlán, with thousands of human sacrifices. Leonardo da Vinci creates his Vitruvian Man drawing.

1518 - Connor MacLeod born in the Highlands of Scotland, in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. His mother's name is Caiolin.

1582 - Linda departs England and arrives to the Kingdom of Oz to study under Wizard Wam. She later comes to be known as Glinda the Good.

1585 - The Roanoke Colony was established on Roanoke Island in what is today's Dare County, North Carolina. 5 years later the entire colony was missing with only a single clue to indicate what happened to them: the word "CROATOAN" carved into a tree.

1592 - Sir Walter Raleigh is imprisoned in the Tower of London when Queen Elizabeth I discovers that he has married one of her ladies-in-waiting without her consent. Doctor Who shares his cell and will later complain that Raleigh "kept going on about some new vegetable he'd discovered".

1600 - Dutch ship Liefde wrecks off the coast of Usuki in Oita Prefecture Japan, sailor John Blackthorne befriends Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, marries a local beauty (ignoring the fact he had a wife in England) and was granted a fiefdom close to Edo.

1650 - The 11th Doctor Who is caught posing nude for a painting with a woman named Matilda by an enraged King Charles II. By the decree of King Charles II, the Doctor is imprisoned in the Tower of London without trial. Two nights later, he escapes from the Tower by hot air balloon. Puritans chop down the original Glastonbury Thorn. Cafés begin to become popular in Europe. Ann Greene, who had been hanged for infanticide in Oxford wakes up on an autopsy table; she is pardoned.

1729 - Jonathan Swift's economic legal proposal A Modest Proposal For preventing the Children of Poor People From being a Burthen to Their Parents or Country, and For making them Beneficial to the Publick is approved and elite London restaurants add stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled baby to the menu. The Board of Agriculture Act 1889 banned baby in the UK.

1734 - Benjamin Franklin was initiated into the Masonic Lodge.

1736 - While travelling astrally, Padmasambhava, the High Lama of Detsen Monastery in Tibet, makes contact with the disembodied Great Intelligence. The Intelligence takes partial control of Padmasambhava, forcing him to start construction of Yeti-shaped robots.

1777 - Victor Frankenstein outfits his laboratory inspired by Benjamin Franklin's experiments a few years before.

1812 - An earthquake buries the Sunnydale California Mission. English poet Lord Byron gives his first address as a member of the British House of Lords, in defense of Luddite violence against industrialism. U.S. President James Madison asks the U.S. Congress to declare war on the United Kingdom. Napoleon's Grande Armée crosses the Neman River, and invades Russia. The first volume of Grimms' Fairy Tales is published in Germany. Sacagawea of the Shoshonis dies of Putrid Fever.

1816 - During the infamous "Haunted Summer," P.B. Shelley, his young bride, Mary, and her stepsister, Claire Clairmont, take a walking tour to the shores of Lake Geneva to meet Lord Byron, who was residing in Villa Diodati with his doctor, John Polidori. Amidst opium and laudanum-soaked conversation, poetry readings, and gender-bending sex romps, the group also found time to entertain each other with the writing of spooky stories. The most famous of these, Frankenstein, and The Vampyre, effectively became the flagstones of the Gothic horror genre. Meanwhile, mostly alone and confined to bed, John Keats wrote "On first looking into Chapman’s Homer," rounding out the trifecta of the Romantic movement.

1817 - Watcher Claire Silver is visited by Lord Byron while Justine the Slayer lays grievously injured; Byron brings her "certain books" and fragments of Oriental scrolls containing Chinese lore called "Emperor Taizu's Book" which has a passage about the beginning of the world which strangely mirrors what the Watchers and Slayers believe - the book was written in A.D. 971. He hints he knows that Justine is the Slayer; Justine suspects something odd about Byron, sensing that Byron was an Immortal.

1859 - Charles Blondin crosses Niagara Falls on tightrope.

1865 – General Robert E. Lee surrenders to General Ulysses. S. Grant. The Civil War is over. Eobard Grace returns home from his actions in the American Civil War. Takes possession of the Book of Shadows from his uncle Frederick. President Abraham Lincoln is assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, in service to the Knights of the Golden Circle. James West and Artemus Gordon's first mission together for the newly-created Secret Service, to safely deliver Lincoln's body to Illinois for burial.

1867 - The Black Rock, commanded by Magnus Hanso, was a ship that had crashed onto an island. It was found peculiarly in the middle of the jungle in the "Dark Territory", with no sign or indication of how it arrived there.

1868 - Edward S. Ellis publishes his first science fiction dime novel, The Steam Man of the Prairies, a pioneering fictional story about Victorian-era inventioneering, which firmly established the "Edisonade" genre.

1871 - Henry Morton Stanley, Welsh-born correspondent for the New York Herald, locates missing Scottish explorer and missionary Dr. David Livingstone in Ujiji, near Lake Tanganyika, and greets him by saying, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" Heinrich Schliemann begins the excavation of Troy. Charles Babbage (1791- 1871) was an English polymath. A mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer, Babbage originated the concept of a digital programmable computer. Half of Babbage's brain is preserved at the Hunterian Museum in the Royal College of Surgeons in London. The other half of Babbage's brain is on display in the Science Museum, London.

1873 - Phileas Fogg of London and his newly employed French valet Passepartout attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days on a £20,000 wager set by his friends at the Reform Club. The United States Congress enacts the Comstock Law, making it illegal to send any "obscene, lewd, or lascivious" books through the mail. Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis receive United States patent#139121, for using copper rivets to strengthen the pockets of denim work pants. Levi Strauss & Co. begin manufacturing the famous Levi's brand of jeans, using fabric from the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company in Manchester, New Hampshire. In 1988, IronFeather infilitrates and explores the the long abandoned Amoskeag Mills by climbing into an ungated exhaust vent into the mucky underbelly and climbing a ladder up into the interior of the massive empty inter-connected factories. At Adair, Iowa, Jesse James and the James–Younger Gang pull off the first successful train robbery in the American Old West (US$3,000 from the Rock Island Express). Coors Brewing Company begins making beer in Golden, Colorado. Mass production of the typewriter begins.

1874 - Erik Weisz a.k.a. Harry Houdini is born.

1876 - Alexander Graham Bell demonstrates telephone.

1884 - Nikola Tesla redesigns Thomas Edison's inefficient motor and generators, but is never paid the promised $50K.  

1886 - Sir Richard Francis Burton is knighted. 

1888 - Jack the Ripper killings begin. Hertz discovers radio waves. John Clayton III, the future "Lord Greystoke," a.k.a. Tarzan is born in the French Equatorial Africa (Gabonese Republic).

1896 - Hypnotism, Mesmerism and the New Witchcraft By Ernest Abraham is published. Henry J. Heinz introduced the marketing slogan "57 Varieties". The reason for "57" is unclear. Heinz said he chose "5" because it was his lucky number and the number "7" was his wife's lucky number. However, Heinz also said the number "7" was selected specifically because of the "psychological influence of that figure and of its enduring significance to people of all ages". S&H Green Stamps introduced.

1901 - Hypnotist, Al Layne, places Edgar Cayce into a deep hypnotic trance, cures his voice illness and helps release his clairvoyant powers.

1903 - Magician and inventor Nevil Maskelyne disrupts John Ambrose Fleming's public demonstration of Guglielmo Marconi's purportedly secure wireless telegraphy technology, sending insulting Morse code messages through the auditorium's projector. American frontierswoman Calamity Jane dies and is reincarnated as newborn Jerome "Curly Howard" Horwitz who will grow up and continue the advancement of quality showmanship & entertainment.

1913 - Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell aka Anaïs Nin, age 11, writes her 1st diary.

1918 – Max Davies begins wandering the world. Richard Winthrop’s parents die in an accident.

1922 – Warlike Manchu tutors Max Davies in Kyoto Japan.

1936 - Dr. Henry Walton "Indiana" Jones, Jr. discovers the אָרוֹן הַבְּרִית a.k.a. The Ark of the Covenant in Tanis Egypt.

1939 - Hollis Mason was a frustrated police officer that become the costumed vigilante; Nite Owl. He testified before HUAC in the early '50's, and was cleared quickly because of his police force background. In 1962, he retired from superheroics to run an auto shop. After two years of brutal imprisonment, Amelia Earhart escapes from the Imperial Japanese Army base near Osaka by causing an ammunition dump explosion that kills 94. She makes her way to the US, changes her name to Irene Craigmile Bolam and settles in New Jersey. John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath, is published. Steinbeck was given access to Sanora Babb's detailed notes on the tent camps of the Dust Bowl migrants to California and he rushed his book out before Babb completed her own, causing her book, Whose Names Are Unknown, to be delayed til 2004. During the early years of the HUAC hearings, Babb was blacklisted, and moved to Mexico City. Bruce Wayne, a wealthy American playboy, philanthropist, and owner of Wayne Enterprises becomes the costumed vigilante; Bat-Man. Eugen Weidmann is executed by public guillotining in France. MGM's classic musical film The Wizard of Oz, based on L. Frank Baum's famous novel, and starring Judy Garland as Dorothy, premieres at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Al Capone is released from Alcatraz, due to deteriorating health caused by syphilis. Tarzan returns to Kenya, says good-bye to Jane (who follows him to England later), and joins the R.A.F. in London.

1941 - American expatriate Rick Blaine opens "Rick's Café Américain" an upscale nightclub and illegal gambling den in Casablanca. 30 years later Rick Blaine relocates to London and opens the Hard Rock Cafe.

1942 – The Peregrine battles a Nazi super agent known as the Grim Reaper, who is attempting to gather the Crystal Skulls 

1943 - L. Ron Hubbard, in command of a submarine chaser, the USS PC-815, sailed bound for San Diego. Only five hours into the voyage, Hubbard believed he had detected an enemy submarine. Hubbard spent the next 68 hours engaged in combat, until finally receiving orders to return to Astoria. Admiral Fletcher, commander of the Northwest Sea Frontier, concluded: "An analysis of all reports convinces me that there was no submarine in the area." Fletcher suggested Hubbard had mistaken a "known magnetic deposit" for an enemy sub.

1944 – The Peregrine organizes a strike force composed of Revenant, Frankenstein’s Monster, Catalyst and Esper. 

1945 - L. Ron Hubbard moved into the Pasadena mansion of John "Jack" Whiteside Parsons. A leading rocket propulsion researcher at the California Institute of Technology and a founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Parsons led a double life as an avid occultist and Thelemite, follower of the English ceremonial magician Aleister Crowley and leader of a lodge of Crowley's magical order, Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO). Hubbard befriended Parsons and soon became sexually involved with Parsons's 21-year-old girlfriend, Sara "Betty" Northrup.

1947 - The international group of researchers, called the Chicago Atomic Scientists, began publishing a mimeographed newsletter "Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists" which features the Doomsday Clock on the cover. Havoc and pandemonium reign in Hollister California as 4,000 motorcyclists riot. Motorcycle groups in attendance included the 13 Rebels, Pissed Off Bastards of Bloomington, the Boozefighters, the Market Street Commandos, the Top Hatters Motorcycle Club, and the Galloping Goose Motorcycle Club. The Hydra Club of NYC (social club of SCI-FI professionals) was formed. Students in the Delta Zeta Kappa fraternity at Crestwood College (by the south side of Sunnydale's cemetery) begin sacrificing girls to the Snake God Machida in return for wealth and power. A spacecraft of unspecified alien origin crashes in the area of Roswell, New Mexico in the United States. The event is kept secret from the general public, but by the early 21st century, a mileometer from the craft will eventually find its way into billionaire Henry van Statten's private collection of alien artefacts.

1948 - The American Motorcyclist Association made a statement that ninety-nine percent of the motorcyclists are good people enjoying a clean sport and it is the one percent that are anti-social barbarians. Hells Angels Motorcycle Club is founded in San Bernardino California. William Alexander "Bud" Abbott and Lou Costello encounter Frankenstein's monster in Florida.

1949 – George Orwell’s “1984” is published.

1950 - Buckaroo Banzai was born in London, five years later he witnesses his parents death from a bombing of their jetcar by Hanoi Xan. Soviet agents offer L. Ron Hubbard $100,000 and laboratory facilities in the USSR for his unpublished manuscript Excalibur. He refuses and they steal it, it was never recovered. The contents of Excalibur formed the basis for Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.

1953 – The Peregrine acquires the Looking Glass from Lu Chang.  

1954 - Salvatore Bonanno, the son of mafia boss Joseph Bonanno, becomes a "made man" and an official member of the Bonanno crime family. The Church of Scientology was founded by L. Ron Hubbard. Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán was born in Sinaloa, Mexico. As a child, he sold oranges and dropped out of school in third grade.

1957 - Joe "Joybubbles" Engressia, a blind seven-year-old boy with perfect pitch, discovered that whistling the fourth E above middle C (a frequency of 2600 Hz) would interfere with AT&T's automated telephone systems, thereby inadvertently opening the door for phreaking.

1958 - Based on clues from clairvoyant Edgar Cayce's readings 20 years before, US Government agents discover a giant solar crystal, activated by the sun (used to harness energy and provide power to Atlantis) that can be used as a death ray machine.

1959 - Olympia Press publishes the last book officially banned by the United States Congress: The Naked Lunch, by William S. Burroughs. The novel, a landmark in the dreamlike, Dadaesque cut-up method, is a portent bridge between the hedonistic Beatniks and the psychedelic socio-sexual-political revolutionaries of the Hippie movement. Jon Osterman a.k.a. Doctor Manhattan, was caught in an accident in an intrinsic field remover, causing him to disintegrate. Later, he obtained sufficient control over matter to reassemble himself and worked for the US Military.

1961 – Max’s son William becomes the second Peregrine.  

1962 - Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin escape from Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary and relocate to Boulder Colorado and open a well known beatnik coffeehouse.

1963 - US President John F. Kennedy is assassinated. Edward Morgan Blake a.k.a. The Comedian was involved in Kennedy's assassination. Doctor Strange establishes his HQ at the Sanctum Sanctorum building located at 177A Bleecker Street in New York City's Greenwich Village neighborhood. Anita King was an American stunt driver and movie actress. In 1915, she became the first woman to drive a car unaccompanied ("There will be nobody with her at any time on the trip. Her only companions will be a rifle and a six shooter") across the United States, with her 49-day journey from Hollywood to New York City. King's accomplishment made her a national celebrity and Paramount Studios quickly began production with director George Melford of a movie version of her trip titled "The Race." King made numerous public appearances on behalf of the studio, the Kissel, and Firestone, doing daredevil auto stunts. King died of a heart attack in 1963 at her home in Hollywood, her soul reincarnated into a sentient anthropomorphic 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, called "Herbie" distinguished by red, white and blue racing stripes from front to back bumper, a racing-style number 53 on the front luggage compartment lid, doors, and engine lid, and a yellow-on-black '63 California license plate with the registration "OFP 857". 鉄腕アトム a.k.a. Astro Boy becomes popular on TV.

1964 - Radio Caroline is a British radio station founded by Ronan O'Rahilly, broadcast from ships located in international waters. Walter Joseph Kovacs enraged by the murder of Kitty Genovese takes up the identity of vigilante Rorschach to investigate and seek revenge.

1965 - IronFeather is born in Northern Scotland's secret submarine base at Holy Loch . 

1966 - Bobby Seale and Huey Newton cofound The Black Panther Party in Oakland, California. Paul McCartney of the English rock band The Beatles is murdered by an alien pod spore who assimilates his physical characteristics, memories, and personality and secretly replaces him.

1967 – The second Peregrine battles and defeats the Warlike Manchu, who is in possession of the Mayan Tablet that Doctor Satan coveted in ’43. John Kirkland (aka STP John) with Deputy Dawg, Goldfinger, Rancid Randy and Patty Rotten Crotch founded the STP gang, a grimy band of violent vagrants 200 strong.

1968 - A year of epic highs and lows. The release of Top 10 LP Switched-On Bach plays a major influence in bringing synthesizers to mainstream attention and popular music, performed and arranged by Walter Carlos (who will later undergo the ultimate act of synthesis to become Wendy). Robert F. Kennedy is assassinated in Los Angeles. Martin Luther King Jr. is assassinated in Memphis. Apollo 8 capstones the year with several monumental firsts: the chariot of the first humans to fly to the Moon; the first crewed launch of the Saturn V rocket; the first manned spacecraft to leave low Earth orbit, reach the Moon, orbit it, and return; the first human-navigated craft to escape the gravity of a celestial body; and the first human eyes to set sight upon and document with photographic proof, the view of the Earth as seen from outer space. The United Nations forms the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce (UNIT), a military organisation whose mandate is to investigate and combat paranormal and extraterrestrial threats to the Earth. UNIT Central Command is based in Geneva, Switzerland. The U.N. Security Council also establishes an official First Contact Policy.

1970 - The Weather Underground issue their "Declaration of a State of War" against the United States government. The Dharma Initiative project was created by two doctoral candidates from the University of Michigan, Gerald and Karen DeGroot, and was funded by Alvar Hanso of the Hanso Foundation. They imagined a "large-scale communal research compound", where scientists and free thinkers from around the globe could research meteorology, psychology, parapsychology, zoology, electromagnetism, and utopian social networks.

1971 - Doghead Cola and twin brother E23 are spawned. While one pursues experimental literature and art, the other undertakes a path imbued with electronic synths and beats. Both eventuate to become legends in their own minds. Meanwhile, a more noteworthy collaboration between Stanley Kubrick and Wendy Carlos results in the legendary motion picture featuring an equally influential all-electronic music soundtrack: A Clockwork Orange. The dystopian narrative of a near-future, violently sociopathic youth is blamed for a series of copycat crimes, forcing its withdrawal from U.K. circulation, and prompting its creator to memorably quote "to attribute powerful suggestive qualities to a film is at odds with the scientifically accepted view that, even after deep hypnosis in a posthypnotic state, people cannot be made to do things which are at odds with their natures." The Creeper system, an experimental self-replicating program, is written by Bob Thomas at BBN Technologies to test John von Neumann's theory. Creeper infected DEC PDP-10 computers running the TENEX operating system. Creeper gained access via the ARPANET and copied itself to the remote system where the message "I'm the creeper, catch me if you can!" was displayed.

1973 - In Yuzawadai, Akita, Japan; a carved wood statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary weeps tears and blood, televised live on TV Tokyo Channel 12. The blood type of the statue and its sweat and tear type were found to be types B and AB, respectively. The weeping ceases in 1981.

1976 - A pair of Krynoid pods are discovered buried in the snows near a base in Antarctica and, on behalf of UNIT and the World Ecology Bureau, the 4th Doctor and Sarah Jane travel to the base to assess the situation. One of the base's scientists is infected by a pod, becoming an ambulatory, rampaging plant-based being. The creature is destroyed when the base is destroyed, but the second pod is stolen by agents of by eccentric millionaire Harrison Chase and taken to England. The Doctor and Sarah Jane follow the pod and confront the insane Chase, who is pleased at the prospect of the Krynoid consuming all animal life on the planet. One of Chase's men is infected by the pod and grows to enormous proportions. The giant Krynoid is destroyed by a UNIT air-strike and Chase is accidentally killed by his own industrial-strength composter. John Gilchrist a.k.a. Little Mikey dies after eating an unexpectedly lethal combination of Pop Rocks and drinking excessive amounts of Coca-Cola, which caused his stomach to inflate with carbon dioxide.

1977 - Vinyl scores another gold record - and goes interstellar (or at least promises to) - when two LP records made of solid gold are etched with scientific data, photos of the Earth and its lifeforms, greetings in 55 different languages are launched with Voyagers 1 & 2. Each carrying their own unique cuts, intended to inform deep space dwelling extraterrestrial DJs with the language and sounds of our home planet and its multi-cultural people, including a collection of music by Chuck Berry, Valya Balkanska, Blind Willie Johnson, and that hit-maker, Mozart. Here's hoping that if E.T. is able to discern that human evolution didn't cease in the 1970s, that they'll be down to drop a beat and Disco. Dharma Initiative workers based on the Island drilled into a huge electromagnetic pocket, releasing a catastrophically dangerous amount of electromagnetic energy. This is referred to as "the Incident" and is frequently alluded to in other Dharma Initiative sources. The science-fantasy movie Star Wars is released. It will become one of the most popular and influential films of all time, its popularity lasting well into the 51st century. The VAX-11 is a family of minicomputers developed and manufactured by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) using processors implementing the VAX instruction set architecture (ISA), succeeding the PDP-11.

1979 - Building a modernized sci-fi McMansion atop H. G. Wells' most famous fictional foundation, The Time Machine, K. W. Jeter publishes the first self-proclaimed Steampunk novel, Morlock Night, simultaneously coining that genre's name. Arguably better executed in premise than actual novel (where, like, King Arthur and Merlin have to show up to save the day - which is a goofy resolution to an otherwise interesting premise). In fairness, Jeter offered the term "steam-punks" in a letter to Locus Magazine as his attempt to describe two of his own as well as other novels by James Blaylock and Tim Powers, apparently seeking to establish their collective place in a 19th Century-inspired science fiction sub-genre. The term stuck, spawning a series of imitators, fashions, comic books and films. The space station Skylab begins its return to Earth, breaking up in the planet's atmosphere. There are no human casualties. The Muppet Movie is released.

1980 - After watching Werner Herzog's 1977 film Stroszek, 23 year old Ian Curtis put on Iggy Pop's 1977 album The Idiot and hung himself with washing line.

1981 - The Chaos Computer Club (CCC) is founded in Berlin. IronFeather explores the London punk markets of High Street Kennsington & Camden Town and narrowly escapes contracting tuberculosis after sharing his Carlsberg Special Brew with a mysterious homeless man. Video arcade game ドンキーコング a.k.a. Donkey Kong is released by Nintendo. The CIA release video arcade game Polybius as a psychology experiment, gameplay produced intense psychoactive and subliminal effects. MTV (Music Television) is launched and airs its first video, Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles (inspired by JG Ballard's vision of the future where record companies would have computers in the basement and manufacture artists). Gas explosions at a coal mine at Hokutan, Yūbari, Hokkaidō, Japan kill 93.

1982 - Blade Runner bombs at the box office, and sets the standard for the Sci-Fi sub-genre that would become termed Cyberpunk. Simultaneously, Katsuhiro Otomo's manga series Akira debuts, culturally impacting the rise of Japanese cyberpunk. New Wave music peaks, with cross-over hits into the mainstream from artists including A Flock Of Seagulls, Duran Duran, The Fixx, Modern English, Thomas Dolby, Der Kommissar, Men Without Hats, Peter Schilling, ABC, Ultravox, and Peter Gabriel. The Commodore 64, also known as the C64 or the CBM 64, is an 8-bit home computer introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas.

1983 - The Office of Special Affairs (OSA), formerly the Guardian's Office, is the secret Intelligence Bureau (ie: CIA, KGB) of the Church of Scientology International, founded in Hemet California.

1984 – Emmanuel Goldstein publishes 2600 Magazine. William Gibson's debut novel, Neuromancer, becomes the first novel to win the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award. It introduces characters who "jack-in" to "The Matrix," bringing to literature what Blade Runner brought to film. (Sadly, the Wachowskis will later cherry-pick ancillary elements of the story for their own big screen contribution to the sub-genre, in part dampening the relevance of ever bringing Gibson's landmark achievement to that same (cyber)space. Their choice to cast the same lead actor who also starred in Gibson's failed screenplay of Neuromancer's seminal prototype, "Johnny Mnemonic", is another unfortunate synchronicity.) Cult of the Dead Cow forms in Lubbock, Texas, and begins publishing its ezine.

1985 - A convoy (140 vehicles, most of them buses and vans converted into living spaces) of 600 New Age travellers were ambushed by police at "The Battle of the Beanfield", resulting in an end to the Stonehenge free festivals. Daniel Dreiberg a.k.a. Nite Owl II working with Silk Spectre (whom he fell in love with) breaks Rorschach out of prison. The FBI, Secret Service, Middlesex County NJ Prosecutor's Office and various local law enforcement agencies execute seven search warrants concurrently across New Jersey on July 12, 1985, seizing equipment from BBS operators and users alike for "complicity in computer theft", under a newly passed, and yet untested criminal statute. This is famously known as the Private Sector Bust, or the 2600 BBS Seizure, and implicated the Private Sector BBS sysop, Store Manager (also a BBS sysop), Beowulf, Red Barchetta, The Vampire, the NJ Hack Shack BBS sysop, and the Treasure Chest BBS sysop. The Kurgan arrives in New York and takes a room at a fleabag hotel, his goal is to locate & kill Connor Macleod. On June 5th, in a Chicago suburb two months before graduation, high school senior Ferris Bueller fakes illness to stay home from school.

1986 - A series of explosions at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Russia leads to a meltdown. IronFeather's BBS, Cruel Wyndz goes online featuring 2400 baud speed connection. The first MS-DOS virus, Brain, starts to spread. Angie, owner of The Queen Victoria pub on Albert Square Walford, is divorced from her cheating husband Dirty Den Watts and later married to Brian May the guitar player for the rockstar group QUEEN.

1987  - IronFeather publishes the first IFJ inspired by 2600 Magazine and the Yippie’s OVERTHROW newspaper.

1988 - "Madchester" scene fully erupts as, amidst a social explosion ingesting copious amount of MDMA, 808 State release seminal Acid House album Newbuild. Electronic music and its underground subculture will never be the same.

1989 – John Major Jenkins and IronFeather join forces in Boulder Colorado. Stanley Pons and Martin Fleischmann publish the recipe for the Cold Fusion cocktail in the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry : Mix Rum, V-8 Fusion, and ice in cocktail shaker, strain into test tube using borosilicate glass funnel. They request Congress to provide $25 million to continue research. Dutch magazine Hack-Tic begins.

1990 – Operation Sundevil aka United States Secret Service crackdown on "illegal computer hacking activities." It involved raids, arrests and the confiscation of computers, the contents of electronic bulletin board systems (BBSes), and floppy disks.

1992 - Rudy Rucker and Queen Mu edit Mondo 2000: A User's Guide to the New Edge, showcasing a prescient lexicon of all the cultural impacts about to unfold over the next three decades due to the emergence of the Internet, electronic music, social media, and human-computer augmentation. The entry on 'Zines prominently features a thumbnail image of IFJ #5. Aphex Twin releases Selected Ambient Works 85–92 on Belgian imprint R&S Records. The record store clerk who sold E23 his copy tried to talk the young DJ out of the purchase (as well as the Psychic TV record, Direction Ov Travel, he was also procuring), telling him "You might not like this stuff, man, it's all a bunch of weird instrumental music." Ben Linus joined the Hostiles, who killed the Dharma Initiative members, an event which became known as "The Purge". The bodies were buried in a mass grave.

1993 – Jeff Moss organizes DEFCON party in Las Vegas. Bredo Morstøl's body is cryogenically frozen with dry ice in a shack in Nederland Colorado. One of the earliest uses of the term PLUR outside the internet, mostly anecdotal, appears to be DJ Frankie Bones in June 1993. Supposedly in response to a fight that broke out at one of his epic Storm Raves in Brooklyn, New York, Bones is said to have got on the microphone and yelled: "If you don't start showing some peace, love, and unity, I'll break your faces."

1994 - Pirate Sound System joins forces with An Aquatic Ape, DJ Nitro, Nootrophia (DJ E23's smart drink company), the Pilot Light Crew, and Diode (later re-branded as Multicast of Obliq Records) to host a benefit rave for legendary community radio station KGNU, effectively uniting the core crew of founding members for what the following year would launch Colorado's longest-running electronic music program, Electronic Air. In another alignment of cosmic synchronicity, the event was hosted at the fittingly-named International Order of Odd Fellows club.

1995 - Iron Feather and his RadioPing co-host devslashnull, team with E23, Selena Dubgoddess, and Captain Scarlett, working against the grain of the station's program committee to establish Electronic Air. Among other recognizable firsts, the show took pole position as the state's first webcast/web-simulcast, and set a precedent KGNU on the whole would also soon follow. Goldie sets the Drum'n'Bass standard with "Inner City Life," and later that same year Richard D. James bitch-smacks the sub-genre, as he is wont to do, taking D'n'B to the next level with his AFX two-EP release, "Hangable Auto Bulb."  

1996 - At a lecture presented by the 1990s answer to scholarly psychedelica, Terence McKenna, Iron Feather introduces John Major Jenkins to IFJ contributor Doghead Cola. Following the lecture, during the Q&A, Jenkins, observed by IF & DC in the audience, posits an elaborate question to McKenna, asking about the possible correlation between McKenna's "Timewave Zero" algorithm and the Mayan Calendar end-date of December 21, 2012. McKenna listened intently, rubbing his chin, until the question concluded, offering one of his own: "Would you happen to be John Major Jenkins," he asked in his deliberate, slow, fully-enunciated cadence. "Holy Shit!" was DC's immediate response: "Not only is Terence McKenna a visionary, he's psychic!" This turning out not to be the case, as JMJ had been corresponding to TM on the topic for several months, the event did initiate the meeting between the two thought leaders, prompting McKenna to write the introduction to JMJ's next book, Maya Cosmogenesis: The True Meaning of the Maya Calendar End-Date, and TM in turn inviting JMJ to join him on his touring lecture series.

1997 - Choonz & Warez (IFJCD001) two-CD set is released, compiling tracks, audio and data anomalies, artwork and poetry of friends, fans, and influencers of the Iron Feather Journal. W.J. Brooks shoe factory (owner Steve Pateman DJed in his past) starts to manufacture "Kinky Boots" designed for cross-dressers.

1998 - Axeman of Albert Square a.k.a. Matthew Robinson is said to have axed Sanjay Gapoor, Gita Kapoor, Neelam Kapoor, Michael Rose, Susan Rose, Bruno di Marco, Luisa di Marco, Ruth Fowler, George Palmer and Dr Legg. He later went on to axe others including Tony Hills, Simon Raymond and Huw Edwards. He fled the UK and is said to be in hiding at Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh.

1999- Independent peer-to-peer file sharing service Napster enriches & uplifts the world with the beauty of music via free MP3 sharing until their enemies, heavy metal band Metallica, slay them 2 years later.

2000 - New Year's celebrants around the world ring-in the New Millennium, generally misunderstanding that calendrical turning-point won't actually start for another year (2001). Following the death of its director and corresponding conditions of his will, Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange is finally released to theaters in the U.K. The Pikachu virus is believed to be the first computer virus geared at children. It is in the form of an e-mail with the message: "Pikachu is your friend." The attachment to the email has an image of a pensive Pikachu, along with a message stating, "Between millions of people around the world I found you. Don’t forget to remember this day every time MY FRIEND."

2001 - The year in which 9/11 stole the future from Stanley Kubrick. Events of the September 11th terrorist attacks stir as many conspiracy theories at the JFK assassination, spawning the "Truther" movement, informed in part by Jim Marrs' 2004 book Inside Job. 2.6% of the population of Brighton England claimed to be of Jedi (Star Wars) religion on the national Census. Desmond Hume shipwrecks on an Island and is rescued by a member of the Dharma Initiative.

2003 - The hacktivist group Anonymous was formed.

2004 - A 23 year old shy computer geek nicknamed "Hermes" rescues a young lady being harassed by an older drunk man on the Toyko subway late night. He later shares the experience and doubts on a BBS when he receives a thank you gift in the mail. The members of the BBS coach and encourage him to ask her on a date. The online chat lasted 57 days with 29,862 posts. The couple get married and relocate to Sapporo and found a computer security business. Oceanic Flight 815 crashes on an Island.

2005 - The ashes of Hunter S. Thompson were fired from a cannon atop a 47m tower shaped like a double-thumbed fist clutching a peyote button. The private funeral, funded by actor and friend Johnny Depp at a cost of $3M, was accompanied by red, white, blue and green fireworks while "Spirit in the Sky" and "Mr. Tambourine Man" underscored the moment.

2008 - IronFeather's BBS is hacked & defaced by hacktivist group Anonymous.

2012 – The fourth Peregrine (Ian Morris) receives the Mayan Tablet from Catalyst, who tells him that the world will end on December 21, 2012 unless something is done. Using the tablet, Ian attempts to take control of the magic spell that will end the world. Aided by the spirits of the three previous Peregrines, he succeeds, though it costs him his life. He is survived by his lover (Fiona Grace) and their unborn child. Max Davies is reborn as a man in his late twenties and becomes the Peregrine again. 

2015 – IronFeather establishes new H.Q. in Northern Japan.

2016 - The incept date for Roy Batty, on January 8 - one of the most intelligent and strongest of the Nexus 6 models of Replicant.

2019 - The 1st year of 令和 Era in Japan. Stéphane Breitwieser, a Frenchman notorious for his art thefts, is once again arrested. He differs from most other art thieves in that he did not steal for any profit motive. He was a self-described art connoisseur who stole in order to build a vast personal collection, particularly of 16th and 17th century masters.
