grieve

to feel or express great sadness, especially when someone dies.

A friend posted on facebook that his dear pet, a dog, had passed away. He called it his best friend, his emotional support dog. The dog lived 16 years..

My friend decided not to grieve and requested others on facebook to do the same and not post condolence like comments.
Per Tibetan Buddhist Practices, We don't cry around the body. To do so causes confusion for the sentient being. Basically OUR crying is because in your soro we're asking them to return. ~AKA... effectively, we're asking them To come back... we're selfishly crying for our suffering and ourselves and unfortunately they can't come back. As per the Tibetan Book of the Dead... there is no crying.
For me, this is an example of a religion failing to help. To grieve, to cry is a natural human reaction to loss, crying is also very healing. It is a powerful emotion. We do not have to be like Spock of Star Trek, we do not have to be like the Tibetan Book of the Dead... We are humans, we can cry, we can grieve. We can feel sadness and sorrow.

Nobody is responding to his facebook message. I will not either but I share my feelings here. Please cry and grieve dear friend. I am very sorry your dear dog has passed. He will be missed.

It is ok, you can cry.......... heart2:
