experience with a trungpa follower

I knew a man who like to publish inspirational truisms and self-wrought poetry on his facebook page. One day it was a Trungpa quote. I remembered moving to Boulder and staying in a house of women who were recovering from sexual abuse wrought by the Naropa affair of the day (this was the mid-1980s). I gently said something to the effect of, that's a nice quote, but I feel odd "liking it" because of Trungpa's behaviors which I know about close-up." The guy flipped his shit, virtually screamed at me for being "destructive to his facebook page," and then deleted me all over the Internet. He is a healer in Maui. One of his acolytes tried to send me to him for a "crystal bowl healing" (I'll try almost anything once) meditation group, but it turns out I was the only one invited. Turns out she was one of his lovers, and she was doing him a favor by recruiting new exploits for him. I turned around and left. To my point? New Age Religious Extremists can kiss my ass. And that sick fuck who lives in Maui with his violin, crystal bowls and shrunken testicles can go drown in the ocean. -Carol
