DJ Greg Campbell, DJ Mudman from UK, Cora Kwan from China

Special guests:

Greg Campbell / Full Flavor

Simon Boyle aka Mudman / Attack!Attack!Attack!

Cora Kwan / live call in scene report from China
-----------------------

DJ Greg Campbell who is making
waves with his captivating house music label Full Flavor Recordings. Full
Flavor's latest release of Mike Disco's "Life Styles", featuring an
exceptional remix by Mark Farina, was a recent show-stopper for the imprint.
Now Campbell has assembled a DJ mix showcasing new and unreleased material
from Full Flavor as well as a few other kindred labels.

The DJ mix is varied in sound but still working within the walls of deep
house. Its somewhat minimal beginnings give way to tech-house moments,
developing further still into funky deep house and touching on some
Chicago-inspired 'acid' sounds.

Greg Campbell has had a proper education in electronic and house music,
first experiencing the growth of the 90's Chicago house scene first hand and
then later in a marketing position at the legendary Detroit nightclub Motor
Lounge. After years of DJ'ing and club promoting Campbell launched his own
label Full Flavor Recordings, working with recording artists and DJs such as
Matthew Bandy, Monoman, and Mark Farina. Currently readying its fifth
release, the future looks bright and funky for this relatively new house
music imprint.

----------------------------

Simon Boyle (aka Mudman) has always been keen on music, something probably garnered from his upbringing. His dad was a fan of Elton John and Mike Oldfield, whilst his stepmum, a child of the sixtees and seventees had a huge collection of records ranging from Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, The Mamas and The Papas, Dylan, The Rolling Stones and Ian Dury & The Blockheads.

It was in his formative years, whilst hanging out with local Skate crew in a small town outside Leeds (UK), that he first discovered both American Punk and all things UK Indie in the form of Factory records back catalogues (Joy Division, Happy Mondays). But with an urge to uncover yet more musical styles it led him down the hiphop alley. He would spend every minute of his free periods at university in the now long closed shop 'Badlands Records' in Huddersfield, trying to outdo every other record geek in finding the best Funk, Soul, DnB, US Backpacker hiphop and its UK equivilent 12"s.

This led to the formation of several nights where he would gather guests from the uk scene (Jehst, Tommy Evans, Evil Ed, Microdisiacs, Hoods Underground) and just generally party till the owners kicked everyone out.

It was during a four year period in London that he discovered live music once again, as the 'Nu Rave' and Indie scenes kicked off in a big way, going to a gig became the new nightclub and he soon became the veteran of way too many live performance, but noticed that despite the bands live on stage there was an intervening period where the DJ was allowed to throw some beats down whilst the next on the bill got ready for their set. Whilst he enjoyed the bands he went to see, he observed that to keep the energy in the crowd going, the DJ was just as vital, yet never took the spotlight. Being socially awkward himself it seemed the ideal compromise so, spurred on by this he began seeing how the formation of tunes could be tampered with. Always prefering mixes, he would hand out the subsequent efforts to friends, leave them on public transport and in pubs and clubs he visited with mixed success

Never once claiming to be a DJ, producer, promoter or beatmaker he decided the best route was to start a blog, as it seemingly was the best way to attract an online audience. So in December last year he started Attack!Attack!Attack!, originally a blogspot account, (but is currently in the process of moving to wordpress) he brought a lot of music to his readership from both emerging and established artists as well as cheekily throwing his own mixes up for good measure.

Attack!Attack!Attack! 2.0 will go live on wordpress in the next week. Check out Attack!attack!Attack! Blog facebook page or download mixes from www.soundcloud.com/attack-attack-attack
