Roping off Sections of Internet for Betterment

Parts of the internet such as Facebook, MySpace and ownerous message boards, which seek to tame and improve the internet through censorship, only make it worse.

The best part about the internet is its expansive open-ness, variety, diversity and unpredictability.

Sites that serve a purpose such as EBay or twitter are different. They're facilitating, rather than trying to engineer, people's behavior.

Craigslist gets away with some Facebook-type activity only because they don't try to control it.

In a certain way, I wish facebook would collapse to force internet users back out into the open where we can all be equal instead of the most politically correct being best.
