I live in Colorado and would love to DJ this kinda sound at a party or venue, drop me a line! oh FYI, I did not mix any dubstep in and instead went with reggae, punky dub, dub house and other such varieties but the last end of the show is a mix by a dj from romania that does some "deep dubstep" he calls it. cheers :)

Vintage Nudes

Tuesday, July 03 2012 @ 11:17 AM MDT

VINTAGE NUDE PHOTOGRAPHS
EXHIBITION & SOIREE

JULY 14, 2012, NOON-MIDNIGHT
1644 Platte Street, Denver, CO, 80202
INFO HOTLINE: (303)578-8158

John B. Post was a Colorado beatnik that focused on photographing women during the sixties and seventies.

The variety of indoor and outdoor environments, staged and natural accentuate the female figure as classic icons of the era. Playful and sensual, these images evoke strength as well as a vulnerability of the uncovered human body. For example, a 1969 photograph awarded first place by the Colorado Press Association is of a woman sitting on a bed with sheer drapes angularly opened to reveal her nude body draped with a lacy shawl. Her upright and dignified posture is further emphasized by Post's subtle use of light and shadow, thus highlighting the dynamic tension of the force and beauty of the physical form.

Post had a studio in Leadville and Denver, Colorado as well as a professional photography studio in Brooklyn, New York. John B. Post died in 1999 in Denver, Colorado. He photographed hundreds of women printing the black and white photographs himself. The bulk of these photographs were never publicly shown. This exhibition of his work will focus on photographs of Colorado nudes. The work will be affordably priced.

Nederland Colorado's 'Michigan Mike' Torpie

Saturday, November 26 2011 @ 02:37 AM MST

Michigan Mike on KGNU radio:

www.ironfeather.com/mp3/MICHIGAN_MIKE_MIX.mp3

I always thought Mike would be such a fun guest on KGNU as he has such a love of music and finally after years of invites he did join me on the Afternoon Sound Alternative show on KGNU and he was excited, nervous and did a great job!

He presented exclusive recordings from his NEDFEST.

I have many memories of Mike but one I enjoy was his mastery of scrabble! I don't think anyone could best him in Nederland.

A few weeks ago Mike was driving about in his new NEDFEST RV and kidnapped me for some fun adventures. He was so alive and vibrant. I am angry and upset with this news of his passing... but anyone that was hanging with Mike knew of his struggles and this was a possible destiny.

I owe you a pint Mike cuz you treated me just over the street recently.  Miss you already you bastard!!!  arg!!!

can you make an audio blurb for my radio show?

Saturday, July 31 2010 @ 04:36 PM MDT

I have been hosting radio shows on KGNU (independent, volunteer, community run, non-commercial) radio station for 14 years now and really enjoy myself as I love collecting various musics and such a blast to share them. I spend tons of tyme listening and researching music from around the world to share. I never have a playlist in advance, I just bring in a collection of phresh tunes and play them as the vibe seems right. The challenge is always almost overwhelming to me but I always do just fine and the experience is the best natural high I know of.

I always try to have live phone interviews of interesting folks, in studio guests, co-hosts, guest DJs, live bands, Dr. Meg with free faux life coaching, old radio bits from Wolfman Jack, spoken word, fake commercials, sound effects, etc

It is so much phun!!

I love the music but what i also love so much is when my friends from around the world get involved by sharing interesting music, interviews, sound files, etc

I want you! Could you make an audio file for me to play on future radio shows?

perhaps you start by saying hellos, introduce yourself, mention any interesting things in your life, mention your projects, and if you would like, mention the radio station information:

"KGNU, Boulder, Denve,r 88.5FM, 1390 AM"

ok sweet, save your audio file as MP3 or whatever you wish and email it now to me : ironfeatherbooks (at) gmail.com

I will play it on my next radio show and future shows also.

Thank you!!!
